Problem inserting photos

A friend gave me a CD of photos he had taken. I am trying to insert them
into a presentation, but when I open the CD, I get a message that says, "Your
version of DLA can read files on this disc but you will not be able to add or
edit them." I've never run into this problem before. I've tried moving the
photos onto my computer before inserting them, but that doesn't work either.
Any suggestions that might help?

It seems to me it's an issue with your CD ROM burning software. Are you
using Roxio?

The CD was created using Roxio. I have Sonic Record Now on my computer.

There is a good chance that the CD was not closed (finalized) in Roxio.
Probably have to put it back into your friends computer to clear up the
problem.

Do you have instructions for doing that? I'm not familiar with the program,
and I know he's fairly computer challenged.

Thanks. I've done as you suggested and have done the google search. I think
I see where the problem is. I will have him follow the instructions to see
if that solves the problem.
