Problem merging data from Access

Hi,

I have a form letter in which I want to merge mailing data
from an Access database. However, when I select the
database as a data source, it says "Word could not re-
establish a DDE connection to Microsoft Access to complete
the current task." Going the other direction to merge the
data (ie, using Office Links -> Merge it with MS Word in
Access) works fine, but I would prefer to do it the other
way. Both versions are from Office 97 Professional. Both
the mail merge document and the database are stored on a
networked drive.
