Problem migrating entourage email messages to MS exchange account

I am trying to migrate my entourage 2004 to a remote hosted MS
exchange 2007 account. I am having the following problems:
1. I tried exporting to a .rge file but was given an error.
2. I tried dragging each folder over individually but stating having
the following problems:
i. Certain message dates were being changed to the date and time of
the drag over i.e. some old messages were changed so that they looked
like they were created at the time I dragged the folder over.
ii. some other old messages where changed to a completely random date
and time

SO I can't sort my mail inside my MS exchange folders to their real
either received or sent time and date.

these problems occurred within a number of different folders and I was
able to replicate the problems a number of times

Please HELP. Thanks, Mark.

I am trying to migrate my entourage 2004 to a remote hosted MS
exchange 2007 account.

If you add the exchange account to Entourage, you can just drag over the
messages.
I am having the following problems:
1. I tried exporting to a .rge file but was given an error.

Indicates a corrupt message or other corrupt data.
2. I tried dragging each folder over individually but stating having
the following problems:
i. Certain message dates were being changed to the date and time of
the drag over i.e. some old messages were changed so that they looked
like they were created at the time I dragged the folder over.

This is typical behavior. Sort by Sent and not Received.
ii. some other old messages where changed to a completely random date
and time

Not sure about this behavior.
SO I can't sort my mail inside my MS exchange folders to their real
either received or sent time and date.
Sorting by Sent and not Received should work.

When exporting as Entourage archive (.rge) it will fail if there is
corruption. You can try selecting individual items to see if you can
identify the problem.

You can drag individual folders to the desktop as MBOX files. Each subfolder
will have to be dragged individually. You can try the script Export folders.
(this gets subfolders too). The script will fail on a folder with
corruption.

If both the MBOX and Entourage archive files fail, you can drag individual
messages to the desktop.

Hi Mark!

You can continue to do as you're already doing. But right-click in the
column-header area above your messages and select to view the _Sent_
column and optionally deselect the _Received_ column. The Sent date will
always be correct but the Received date will always be the time and date
when your message was copied or recreated.

Hope this helps!

Hi Bill,
I have noticed some other problems too:
1. Not all of my messages were copies over when I dragged the folders
from my local computer intp the MS exchange folder. When I repeated
this I still have the same problems, a number of messages were not
coming over.
2. Some MS Exchange folders had all my messages in the correct order
when I displayed the folder on my Entourage and yet the exact same
folder had the messages incorrectly ordered when I displayed the
folder in my browser.
Any thoughts??
Thank for your help,
Mark.

Hi Mark!

1. I haven't tested this but were you trying to copy a folder with
sub-folders up to the server? I would suspect that sub-folders of
messages may not copy. Each will probably have to be copied.

Are you able to identify a pattern among the messages that don't get
uploaded? Certain size messages, in a certain location, etc.?

2. This sounds like you need to recreate your groups or click the column
header to to resort. Group views are per folder and do not apply to
other folders.

Hope this helps!
