Problem saving Resource Pool changes

P

Pat

I created a resource pool for a couple of projects, but when ever I make
changes to it and try to save those changes I get the message:

"The file cannot be opened ... Checked that the filename and path are
correct... etc."

The odd thing though is that I can save it under a different file name, and
even if I close the file "without saving changes" , when I reopen it the
changes are there.

Is this a bug? Is there any way to correct this?

Thanks,

Pat

I'm using Project 2002 Pro. Sorry, I should have mentioned that.
Do you know if there was a fix for this version as well?

Hi Pat,

I don't see this specific issue listed as a fix, but if you are not running
SP-1 for Project 2002, I suggest you do install. The service pack fixes a
number of problems.

See the follow KB article for additional information:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/830241

I hope this helps.

I have SP-1 installed, so I guess this is one they never fixed in this
version. Fortunately, (as you saw in my other post) I have MSP 2003 also
(although not yet installed). I guess now's the time!

Thanks again for your help.

Hi Pat,

You're welcome and thanks for the feedback. I think you'll find that 2003
with SP-2 handles the problem well.
