Problem saving Word Documents-saves as single letter

When I save Word Documents, it tries to save the document using a single
letter. How do I stop this?

Close Word. Use Windows Explorer to browse to your WINWORD.EXE file.
Right-click on the filename, and left-click on Properties |
Compatibility | uncheck the "Run this program in compatibility mode" box
| OK.
