problem transferring text to new document

I am confounded by this problem. when I try to cut and paste text into
blank document, this new document shows itself [on coverflow view] as
sideways document with no W on it. when I go to work on it, it keeps t
the print view, which is what I work in, then quite often [an
annoyingly] jumps to draft view, which I never use. can anyone help m
with this problem

The orientation, assuming that's what you are referring to, will change if
you copy text containing a section break (and note that the final paragraph
mark of a document contains a hidden section break). I don't understand what
you mean by "W" in this context, though.

One possibility is that you are inadvertently pressing some kind of key
combination. Check in the Customize Keyboard dialog box if Draft view has a
shortcut assigned on your system.
