Problem with Office 2003

Whenever I start Word 2003 I get the dialog box that says it is
"preparing to Install" and then it goes away and after 20 secs Word starts
normally. Also, if I doubleclick a WORD file in My Documents I get a
diaglog box that says "the command cannot be performed because a dialog box
is open..." After I click the Document oopens successfully after about 20
secs. Doesn't happen with Excel or Visio or Project or Access. It also
happens with PowerPoint and Publisher

I did do the repair option and the re-install options. No success. I also
searched the KB but found nothing useful.

Thoughts?
