Problem with Office Source Engine

I have Word, Excel and Access from Office 2003 installed. When I try to
Reinstall/Repair, Uninstall or Add/Remove components, I get the following
error message:

Office Setup encountered a problem with the Office Source Engine, system
error: [error number]. Please open SETUP.CHM and look for "Office Source
Engine" for information on how to resolve this problem.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

I looked at the setup.chm file and found only two solutions

1. Find Office Source Engine and enable the Service.

2. Reinstall Office


First... there is no such service in my system. Second... I cannot run the
setup program and do anything - reinstall/repair or even uninstall.

So now I have Office 2003 sitting in my system with three major components
and I am unable to remove it or reinstall it.

How can I solve this problem?
