problem with search page recalculations

Suddenly, Front Page has stopped calculating additions,
etc. for my search page. My server suggested
recalculating the web through them, which I did and it
didn't work. I also did recalculated links from within
FP. The only thing we're left with is uninstalling and
reinstalling the Front Page extensions, which is a big
hassle and I don't even know that it will work. Any clues
on this?

If on a Microsoft server have them "re-index" the web.
