I have recently installed Microsoft Office 2003
Professional (only the components on the first CD) and I
have a strange problem: Nearly every time I shut down
Windows, the system seems to stay and do nothing for a
while. Then, it shuts down normally, but, at the next
restart, I find an entry in the Event viewer saying that
the Windows Registry could not be unloaded at shutdown and
it will be unloaded when possible because some application
is still using it.
This problem seemed to start after I configured Outlook to
manage my e-mail accounts. This eventually leads to
Windows installer not working properly and the IIS
services failing to start. Could someone help me with this
problem?
I also have a Visual Studio .NET installed, plus a Nero
6.3. In this minimal configuration it has these problems,
regardless of how many programs I later install.
PS: My OS is Windows XP Professional.
