problems sending and recieving emails in outlook

hi,

i've just upgraded from office 2000 to office xp...

i have a problem with outlook 2002...when i click send
and receive i get an error message "the operation
failed"....

but i can download from each of my email accounts
individually via the tools>send/receive menu..

i've downloaded an update from the microsoft site but
that hasn't solved the problem...

anyone got any ideas how to fix this..

added: now it appears i can't send emails....but all my
email account settings are exactly the same as with
outlook 2000, which worked fine..

i get this message...


Task 'david - Sending and Receiving' reported error
(0x800CCC0F) : 'The connection to the server was
interrupted. If this problem continues, contact your
server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).'
