Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Processor: Intel Hi,

my question is: every time when I try to change font from Times New Roman to Courier New my computer change it itself back. I mean, even if I open new blank Document and I try to start writing with Courier New Font it is not possible. I tried to change Style, and it still doesn't work. Of course I reinstalled all Office. Twice. Still nothing.
I need your help, firends. Any time when I want to change some part of text I have to edit all text again.

First, we need you to stop reinstalling Office.

The files that get damaged are not on the Office CD, so reinstalling never
affects them. However, it does mean that you must now re-apply all of the
updates that have been released, otherwise we can guarantee that things will
get worse.

The Times New Roman font is coming from your Normal template, which is not
part of the Office install disk, and never gets replaced when you reinstall.

If you find and delete your Normal template, the problem should be cured.
It can be "anywhere you like" but unless you have moved it, it should be in
~/Library/Application Support/Microsoft/Office/User Templates/

All Microsoft applications must be quit when you do this, or it won't work.

Hope this helps

Dear John,

First, thank you for your time solving this problem out, but, unfortunately, it still doesn't work correctly. What did I do? Actually everytninhg what you had written: I quited Microsoft, I found User Templates I erased this folder. Do you have another idea how to sort this problem out?

Regards,

Oh, yes, we have lots of other ideas for you :) That was just the most
likely :)

In Word>Preferences, check the setting of Edit: "Keep track of formatting"
and "Match font with keyboard".

Both should be OFF to prevent this problem.

And check the Font specified in your Normal style.

If those are both correct, come back, there's something else you can try
(which is a bit laborious...)

Cheers
