Problems with uninstalling Office 2003 and installing Office XP

OK. We bought some Dell computers, and we installed Office 2003 Basic on all
of them. We also had several other computers, and during our network
installation, the Office was installed. We are trying to uninstall the Office
2003 and install the legal copies of Office XP Standard we have. Here is the
problem. Outlook does not want to work. It says it is having a problem
loading the default files, and won't start properly. I tried using the
uninstall program that came on the office disc, and that didn't help. I also
updated the program, still didn't work. Anyone know of or had this problem
before?? I need help. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Office 2003 should not have been installed on the non-Dell computers. Office
XP was bought from a different source for those computers. Unfortunately,
Outlook from Office XP is having the issue of not being able to load folders.
We need the Office XP working ASAP.

Why does uninstalling Office 2003 cause an issue with installing Office XP
after it??

Assuming you have used Add/Remove dialogue to uninstall o2003
Locate the OL data folder, by default;
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook.
and delete the data files, or if you actually used OL2003 save them to
another backup location.
OL2003 uses a different pst file format to OLxp, and OLxp cannot use this
format
You will have to set up OLxp again.
