Hi,
I have a number of XP workstations that need to be migrated from an NT
Domain to Active Directory. These workstations do not need to be rebuilt or
reimaged but will simply be moved from the existing NT4 domain into AD via
NETDOM... It will require, however, existing Office 2003 Settings to be
migrated from the (existing) profile of the user into the new user (AD)
profile on each respective workstation. I've look at both PROFLWIZ and USMT
for doing this and both sort of manage to migrate some settings but not
all...... is there a recommended tool to use in this scenario? I realise this
is not your typical side-by-side migration or legacy-new OS migration. i.e.
I'm migrating, in effect, Office 2003-->Office 2003 settings from profile A
to profile B on the same machine. The question is ... what's the best (or MS
recommended) approach?
What are the caveats?
Note that migration of Outlook Profile settings (PST references, signatures,
delegation etc) are of primary importance, and Excel / Access / Word /
Powerpoint settings secondary (but still to be migrated).
Appreciate any feedback.
Regards,
