Hi Ng!

Does anyone happen to know, what programming language, MS has used for
programming Word97 and Word2000?

I got that question from a student, and actually doent know what to tell
her.

Hi Jan,

You mean to program winword.exe (for example)? I think various types of
"C" have been used. Word's core code goes back about 15 years, and later
versions have built around it. So whichever version of C that was
current when the programming was being done.

You may be correct - the question is a little ambiguous whether they mean
the base language used for programming (creating) Word or whether they mean
the language the user is able to use to 'program' Word.

Since this appears to be a homework question, it may well be referring to
VBA (vs. WordBasic in earlier versions).

My mistake. I wasnt specific enough. I know that VBA is the program
you use for programming Word, and what i really was looking for, was the
language used by MS to develope the program.

So i guess Cindy is right here. Thank you.
