Our Field Application laptops contain (mostly) WinXP and Office 2000. We have
begun to deploy Project 2003 Standard to the entire organization but have
begun with approximately 25 people. Several (~3-4 so far) of the installs
have shown that the user can not launch Excel without errors unless he/she is
connected to the LAN. If Project 2003 Standard is removed from the laptop,
then Excel works fine (On and off the LAN). With one user, we installed
Project 2002 and Excel worked fine but with Project 2003 Standard installed,
it "broke" Excel again when the laptop was disconnected from the network. By
"broke" I mean that Excel looks for the server location from where it was
originally installed from during the startup, BUT, if Project is removed,
then Excel works fine; On and Off the LAN? (strange but true and only on
about 10% of the small smaple we have done so far). Any thoughts?
Thanks,
