I have a customer that wants to use Microsoft Project 2003 Server in a
mixed enviroment between Macs and PC's. so that the Mac and PC users can
update the same projects.

1 can this be done
2 what software would i need for the pc's and mac's
3 will it work on a SBS 2003 server

any help would be greatly appreciated.

These questions would be better asked in microsoft.public.project.server in
case you don't know about that group.

Project Server requires ActiveX controls to work, so your Macs are not going
to work.

For the Windows computers, only the Project Managers require Microsoft
Project Professional. People who only update a project require just Internet
Explorer and the aforementioned ActiveX controls which download from Project
Server.

I don't know aything about SBS. Normally you require Windows 2003 Server,
Microsoft SQL 2000 or MSDE if the projects are small, and Windows Sharepoint
Services for full functionality.

Each person using Project Server must have a Project Server CAl.

In the future, please post your Project Server questions in the
microsoft.public.project.server newsgroup, as this newsgroup is devoted to
the Microsoft Project desktop application only. To answer your question,
your Mac users will need to access Project Server through a Terminal Server
connection. Furthermore, Microsoft does not recommend using Project Server
on an SBS 2003 server. Hope this helps.
