Project 2007 saving corrupt mpps??

I am testing the Project 2007 beta, and worked on a project over the weekend.
It is not very elaborate; when I saved it on Friday, it stood at 600k.

I tried to reopen the file today, and I get an error that the file is not a
project file, but Project gives me the choice to open it as text only.
Nothing has changed since I was using it on Friday, and I'm baffled why
Project wouldn't open the file it had saved.

Not sure if this is a beta issue, or a newbie issue; we're considering going
to MSProject at work, and I volunteered to test it out, but this is my first
time using it.

Any hope, or am I out of luck?

Pretty much by definition Beta software has bugs in it. That's why Microsoft
say do NOT use beta software for anything important as corruptions are
likely and the next beta might not read files from the previous beta etc.

Could be a number of causes, but if this is your first time with Project I
strongly recommend you get a 2003 demo so you're not getting confused by
beta woes!

Don't blame this on the beta as I just, in the last 30 mins got the same
problem with a project file that i've been using for several days in project
2003. I come in this morning and try to open it and I got the same exact
error. Any insight into this cause would be appreciated.
