Project "grouping" question

In MS-Project 2000, the "Resource Usage" view is a good method for
determining the work effort and cost of each resource for a project. This
view can also show the breakdown of each resource over a variety of time
frames (weeks, months or years.)

By grouping resources, you can also determine the total work effort or cost
of a project by resource group for the total project. However, when
resources are grouped, the breakdown by time period does not total per group
by time period.

How can I determine the total cost per resource group per year for a project.

Thanks.

I think this is one of the things that they fixed in Project 2003.
If you don't want to upgrade you could write some VBA code to do this. Not
trivial though.
