Project is not showing up in Project Center!

Phillip

I have a proejct that is not showing up in Project Center, but is a selection
in the "delete enterprise objects" section in Server Settings. It is also not
showing up in MOPP.

I ran a query against the databases and found it in the draft database but
not in published. But as I mentioned previously, it does not show up in MOPP
and cannot be accessed to be published.

Has anyone ever seen anything like this? And if so, is there a solution?

Thanks.

Philip...

my assumption... you didn't published your projects.
try open your project using MS Project Professional then in file click
publish...

hope this will help you.

Hi there ,

Something could have gone wrong during the publish process, have you perused
your queue for any errors ? From Project Pro can you not open the cached
version of the file and republish ?

This may seem a little patronising but is it a template plan?

As I mentioned, it is not showing up in MOPP (Project Professional). But
thanks for the reply.

I reviewed the queue logs for this project and the only entries I have are
from a few days ago when the user cancelled the project checkin and project
save from project pro. It is not in the cache files.

Some additional things you might check:

- Are you sure this is not a proposal or activity plan?
- In Project Professional in the Open dialog box, did you try double
clicking on 'Retrieve the list of all projects from Project Server' and
play around with the Working vs Published option?
- In Project Center, did you try different views? It might be possible
some views contain filters

You say that the user canceled the save and checkin for this project
from Project Professional. How did he do this, because as far as I know,
this is not possible.

Sorry if some of my questions are very obvious, I'm only trying to
understand what's going wrong.
I hope this helps,
Hans

It is not a proposal or activity. I tried the Working and Published
options-the project was not there. I tried different views-the project was
not there. The queue logs say that the save and publish was cancelled but do
not provide a reason-from my experience this can occur when a user closes
Project too early before the Server has completely processed the file; or
there was a disconnect in network activity. Granted this is supposition here
but something definitely occurred with the save and publish.

Just making sure to cover all of the bases:

1) You see "Connected" in the bottom right.
2) You confirmed you're logging into the correct instance of the MOPS using
the Enterprise Accounts properties?

Both mistakes I have made on occasion.

Yes, I am connected to the correct instance.
I know very very strange. I've never seen anything like it.

One more piece of info: in the Delete Enterprise Objects Settings, under
type it has a listing as "new project". I've never seen that listing.

Saving and publishing other projects all works fine. It's just this one
project causing an issue?

Phillip,

If i understand correctly from your reply below , the user cancelled the
project checkin and save ? If this is true this is where your problem is. For
a project to be published (First Time) it must be saved first. So if the
cancelled the save the publishing could not happen, hence no project in
project center.

hi Phillip

"New Project" generally means project has been created and saved to
the draft database but not yet published. The fact thet you cannot
get at it suggests an incomplete process (supported by cancelled job
states).
Do you know why the project is not visible in the local cache? Has
the user been trying to delete this project?
If you do schedule backups is the project available in the archive
database. If so simply restore it.

Yes just that one...

We were finally able to resolve. Under the user's account in Project we went
to the Work Offline option and found it there. I've never seen antyhing like
that.
