How can I create a task that has a duration equal to the entire project? For
example "Project Administration"

Hi Lynn,

Take a look at FAQ #19 "Hammock Tasks" at
http://project.mvps.org/faqs.htm

Please also follow the link in the FAQ to the Knowledge base article
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/141733 for some additional notes and
cautions.

You may also like to try a search in this newsgroup for "Level of
Effort" tasks.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Julie,
This gets me part way there. The dates are good but the duration didn't
change. I need to show that the resource is allocated for 15% of their time
throughout the duration of the project.

Hi Lynn,

I'm not sure I understand. The duration of the task should be
calculated by the linked start and end dates.

I assume you created the hammock task as outlined in the FAQ? You'll
need to assign your resource or resources at 15% assignment units to the
task to show the resource allocation and work.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.
