horton,
If you want it all in a single report, as I assume you do, then the only
option is to export the data to another application, such as Excel.
Although you can filter a Project file to show tasks and their
predecessors, as soon as the predecessor chain goes beyond one
predecessor the filtered set probably won't be very easy to understand.
Nonetheless, you might like to go to fellow MVP, Jack Dahlgren's website
at: http://masamiki.com/project/macros.htm, and take a look at his
"Trace" macro.

For something closer to the type of report I think you want, I suggest
you set up the view table as you want it, (i.e. including the Total
Slack field), and then create an export map to save the data to Excel.
There you can arrange the report you want.

Thank you John, unfortunately the export still puts pred / succ in one
column separate by comma. I was cheating by saving to a file and then
looking up the info in the project database. I thought there was an
easier way. Do you know how to write the report to an ascii file
(currently I can only select the MSImageWriter). It is too bad since
you get id;name, type, lag already in the report.

Mary Lou,
As I mentioned, VBA is one way to get what you want. Using a SQL query
on the Project database is another way, although I've never messed with
Project's database.

As far as answering your question if I know how to write the report to
an ascii file, the direct answer is "yes", because I would use VBA and
write the data to a text file. Do I have a macro already written to do
so?

You mention an existing report but you don't say what that is. What
exactly is your end goal (not how you want to get there)? If we knew
that, then maybe we could suggest some other alternatives.
