Proper way to insert weather delays in construction CPM schedule?

What would be the correct (re: industry standard) method to insert weather
delay days into an existing construction CPM schedule?

Hi Todd,

I assume you are not attempting to predict delays, but rather deal with
delays as they occur. Two methods that come to mind:

If you are tracking progress on your project, ensure that you have
recorded progress to the delay date on your tasks. Then choose Tools >
Tracking > Update Project and choose the" Reschedule uncomplete work to
start after" option and put in the date that work will recommence on
your project. That will allow you to carry on with tasks that may not
be delayed by weather (interior work) and adjust only the tasks that
have been delayed.

The other option is to record the weather delay dates as non-working
time in the project calendar. That will have the effect of
automatically moving tasks to the next working day. The downside is
that it does affect all tasks, including those that you may have been
able to work on despite the weather.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.
