Property does not exist

I am trying to design a custom form for my contacts and have received
several times the following error message.

"The property does not exist. The field you want to modify is not valid for
this type of item."

Most of the times I have received this have been as I have tried to drag a
field from the "field chooser" to a page I am designing. Once, I got it as
I clicked the page I put all of the new fields on after editing the label on
a field on the general tab.

Could someone explain what this error message means in these two instnaces?
Thank you very much.

Thanks for the clarification and for the lead to the newsgroup for Outlook
forms issues. I have now added it to my subscriptions.

Just because a field appears in the Field Chooser doesn't mean you can use
it on every type of Outlook item. Generally, you can use only fields
appropriate for the type of form you're designing.

FYI, there is a newsgroup specifically for Outlook forms issues "down the
hall" at microsoft.public.outlook.program_forms or, via web interface, at
http://www.microsoft.com/office/com...spx?dg=microsoft.public.outlook.program_forms
