PST File Backup

What are the differences, if any, between the backup PST file and the
operating PST file created by Outlook 2000? That is, should I export to
a PST for a full backup, or can I just close Outlook and make a copy of
the PST file that it is using?

You can just make a copy when Outlook is closed.
