PST size

I know there's an upper limit on PST size and have been thinking of starting
to make my PST files a yearly thing so I'd have 2005.pst at the end of this
year and start on 2006.pst next year. Now the thought occurs to me that,
maybe, my plan won't work if, in fact, the limit is for the total pst files.
So, the question is, is the size limited to the total number of pst files
one has or for each pst file individually?

Howdy,

I don't remember the limit, but it applies to each PST file
rather than to the total.

Also, I gave up on Outlook's archiving a while ago and now
simply create yearly PST files as you describe.

If it's an old (pre-OL2003 non-Unicode) format PST the limit is 2GB, Unicode
PSTs (first supported in OL2003) can be much larger (theoretical max size of
33TB)
