Pub 2002-Wordart 3-D printing lines through the wordart

Cindy

I am using Windows XP with Pub 2002 and printing on a HP
Color Laserjet 8500 with the latest driver from HP.

I am trying to create a 3D wordart but it prints out with
tiny lines through the letters. It looks fine on the
screen.

I am having the same type of issue with gradient shading
also...and transparent.

Thanks
Cindy

Try swapping between PCL and PostScript drivers.

When I change to the PS driver, projects with wordart and
gradients seem to take hours to print...even if they are
only 3-8 meg in size on the printer spooler.

WordArt is not an issue, gradients are a major issue.
That behaviour is quite normal for gradients to a laser printer. You will
have no issues with an ink jet.

Any suggestions for the Color Laser?

I sent this Postscript 2.65 meg file to the printer 25
minutes ago and it is still processing. IT IS ONLY 2.65
MEG????? I have sent 60 meg PCL files that print faster.

Thanks

With blends in a file it makes no difference if the file is Postscript or
PCL.

Blends create thousands of image files and take a substantial amount of
processing.

Remove the blends and you should have no issues.
