Publisher 2000 always asks for CD when starting.

I just bought a new laptop and installed Publisher on the new computer. Now
I have a problem where Publisher asks for the install CD every time I run it.
I installed it with the option that everything is to run from the computer
(not from the CD or installed on 1st use), and it did not do this on the
previous computer. I uninstalled it and re-installed it, but still no change.
Any ideas?

Thanks!

Thanks, Mary. I appreciate the reply.

Unfortunately, although this did solve a problem with Access going through
an "install" procedure everytime it started, it didn't help with the
Publisher 2000 problem (which BTW is a separate install...not part of Office
2000). If I click cancel everytime Publisher asks for the install CD, I
eventually get a message that says "Error 1706. No valid source could be
found for Publisher 2000".

Any other ideas?

Thanks!!!

What happens if you put the Pub CD in and let if do whatever it thinks it
wants to do?
I think this happened to me when installing Pub 2000 on new XP machine.

Hi, Rob.
If I put the CD in, it installs what ever it needs and then runs just fine.
It justs asks for the CD every time...

Thanks again, Mary.

I'll give that a try, too. It sure seems to describe my problem.
This may be a dumb question, but I'm running Excel from Office 2000,
Publisher 2000 (separate installation from other Office products) and Office
2002 Standard. Is it possible that these different versions of Office and
Office products are some of the problem?
