PUBLISHER 2000 - MERGE PHOTOS TO A PUBLICATION

Is it possible to merge pictures into Publisher 2000? I have seen references
to this for Publisher 2003, but when I try it in 2000, some key features are
missing. I have set up my paths in my data source, and tried them both as
text and as hyperlinks, but either way I still just import the path as text.
Am I wasting my time, or is there actually a way to do this in 2000?

Publisher 2003 was the first version to offer this capability.

You are pretty much wasting your time looking for a way to do this
automagically in Publisher 2000.

I don't think it is, but you might want to ask in a Word newsgroup, just in
case.
