Publisher 2003 Question. This is a HARD one, hope you can help

In Publisher 2002,

I can cut content from a page, open another document and paste it and it
will paste in EXACLY on this page where I copied from the other.

For example,
I have a square in the upper right corner of a Publisher 2002 document.
I copy it and open another Publisher 2002 document.
When I select paste, it puts it in the upper right corner just like the
original document.
It didn't matter where my cursor was when I pasted. It came right in to
that spot.

But now that I've upgraded to 2003, when I copy and paste in, it seems to
paste wherever my cursor happens to be at the time.

Is there something I can turn on or off to make it paste like it did in 2002?

Thanks if you can answer the question.

Are you right clicking the new
document and choosing Paste?

Try going to...Edit / Paste.

Hi John

No, I'm not right-clicking the new page.
I'm using the shortcut keys.
Ctrl-V

I hope that this new upgrade doesn't stop people from using the shortcut
keys as effectively as we did in 2002.

Do you think that makes a big difference?

OK John

I went back and tried using Edit, Page and it worked!!!!

I'm not very happy with having to do that because that's an extra step in my
process.

Why wouldn't right-click and paste or Ctrl+V work as well?

Hmmm, if I...right click / copy...on
the original and type...Ctrl / V with the
new project open...the image is placed
in the original position.

Hopefully someone else will have a
better suggestion.

OK. Very interesting.

I did the same thing, Ctrl+C and I did it with Right-Click and copy.

When I sent to the new document, I DIDN'T click anywhere inside the document
and it pasted in the same spot.

So I tried it again and this time I DID click inside the new document and it
copied it to where my cursor is.

Whew.

I'm so in the habit of clicking inside the document I'm going to to make
sure it has my attention, that getting used to NOT doing that is going to be
tricky!

Thanks John. That worked.

OK. Can you answer one more question?

How can I tell the system not to show me the Picture Toolbar every time I
click on an image?

Appreciate it.

Try dragging it beside your other toolbars and
leave it. I have mine on the left just below my
Objects Toolbar.

You're welcome.
