Has any one got any sugestions please with my problem, I've just upgraded my
computer, new motherboard 1 gig, and pentium 4, i'm still running Windows XP
as before and everything fine except my Epson printer it was happy to work
with Publisher 98 but since installing Publisher 2003 my graphics and text
are either squashed or off the page when I go to print preview, is there any
thing I can do. Simple commands please I might have used a computer for some
years but am still only happy with the programes I know

You need to find an updated driver on the Epson site. I looked for one but
your printer model as posted here was not listed, maybe it is a typo.

It could be your present driver is corrupt and needs to be re-installed. It
is always best to completely remove your driver before
installing/reinstalling.

Thank you for the reply, this is a new build so the first time the printer
has been on the machine I have uninstalled everything for the printer and
then reinstalled but the problem with publisher is still there I used pub 98
with windows XP and the epson fine but XP, pub 2003 and epson not happy.
The printer works fine on word 2003 bookfold it just the publisher element
of office and I wondered if there was anything I could do before reverting to
my pub 98 version

Mary, Thank you, I went to Epson first and the Printer doesn't support
Windows 2003 so I'm wondering although the printer works OK with everything
else to do with Office 2003 if there's something about the publisher section
of office that's not compatable.
I've managed to go through properties for both programmes and changed the
compatability but that's not helped and whilst doing this I opened a box
somewhere relating to these programes and closed it quick thinking all was ok
and now I remember seeing it was set to CD/DVD in the paper setting and I'm
wondering if that is causing the problem but I don't know how to find it
again. The preview image does looked to be squashed to represent a cd cover,
but then again I might be wrong. I'll leave it for a bit and then I might
have to go back to pub 98
thanks for trying to help if you can think of anything else I'l gladly try

Sheila, These is no Windows 2003... If you are using Windows XP the drivers on
the Epson site are the ones you need to install.
You may have your page setup wrong in the printer. Go to the Printer Folder in
the control panel, right-click your printer, properties, what is the default
paper setting? Set it to A4 or Letter, depending on your region.
Does that help?

Mary you must think me totally thick, Epson said there was a windows 2003 and
that's why the printer wasn't working. I've rechecked properties on the
printer and it's set for double-sided A4
Your being so patient I do appreciate it
I'm at a total loss as to what it is if I take this printer out of the
equasion publisher 2003 looks to work fine as far as print preview goes,
that's using the microsoft XPS document writer which installed automatically
on the new installation of windows XP
Thank you any way Mary It's so anoyng all worked well before

Mary
Thank you very much for your help I uninstalled the printer again and
reinstalled from the web site a little hesitantley I must say as microsoft
kept flagging up that the driver I had picked hadn't been tested by them and
warned that it could harm the computer straight away or later on well it's
not harmed it yet and preview show publisher working as it should so here's
hopeing I've done something right.
Thank you again
Sheila

Mary, You can uncross your fingers I have done several things in publishers
cropping, shinking, enlarging and it worked and printed fine,
Thank goodness
Thank you very much for your help it is what kept me fighting rather than
giving up and going back to my old version, I'm a happy bunny now :)
