Publisher and 2007

If I install the Home and Student version of Office 2007, would I be able to
then re-install Publisher 2003 off my Office 2003 installation disks? Would
a custom installation allow me to just pick Publisher?

Yes, but then you cannot use the rest of that Office suite on another
computer.

Create a folder on your hard drive, install Publisher 2003 into the folder as a
standalone.

If you do a Custom installation of Office 2007, then you can tell it not
to remove Publisher, saving on the reinstalling.

I should have also indicated that this client is getting a new desk top
machine that will have Office 2007. She is using Office 2003 on her current
machine and would like to somehow get Publisher onto her new machine without
purchasing the highly expensive Professional 2007. The Student and Home
version will be plenty for her, but she'd also like Publisher.

See Mary's and JoAnn's responses. She will have to uninstall Office 2003
on the current machine.

Note that if the version of Office 2003 she has is an OEM (preinstalled)
version, then she will not be licensed to use Publisher on the new
machine, and will have to purchase a version from somewhere.
