Publisher and Access 2003 catalog merge memo field problem

I have set up a successful catalog merge between an access database and
publisher, but I have run into a problem with memo fields. Several of the
items in the catalog have technical descriptions that are longer than the 255
text field, and I have them as memo fields. But when I do the merge I get an
error message on records which have more than 255 characters in a memo field.
It there any way or this, or a solution?
