Publisher converted to Word Pad

I saved my Publisher files to disk because of a system restore need. When I
reinstalled them they show up as Word Pad files. Someone sent me a Publisher
file by email and it also shows up as Word Pad. How can I convert them back
to Publisher format? Help, please! And thanks.

Thanks, Don. I don't know what happened but I just rebooted my computer and
the file came up correctly. A little gremlin, I suspect, tokk over my
computer for a while. thanks, again. I'll remember your advise for next
time.
