Publisher file won't open!

Help!

I just spent 4 hours creating a document in Publisher 2003. I had been
"saving" the file periodically throughout the morning, while I was
working on it. The instant I closed Publisher and tried to reopen the
file, it failed to open the file.

Each time I try to open the file, it comes back with a "Send error
report to Microsoft..."

I tried to delete temp files; installed all service packs for Office,
etc. I even tried to open the file with other applications like Word,
Powerpoint, etc. I sent the file to a friend, they couldn't open it
either.

I have NEVER had such a bad experience with an application.

I tried to use a recovery application but it only brings back 1/3 of
the information and all the formatting is gone!

I copied the file up to http://www.dalcerro.com/livehelp/QRG.pub if you
care to try it for yourself.

Now I fear to start over, creating the doc from scratch. Will it just
get trashed again?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I couldn't get it to open.
Look in your temp folder, there maybe an earlier save. In Windows Explorer, type
%temp% in the address bar. Look for any pub prefix file with a current date, change
the .tmp extension to .pub. If you read through the error details, it would appear
you have a corrupt image.

It's probably too late for this time, but I once had a book I was
working on. Like you, I saved every hour or so but luckily, I did a Save
As and numbered the saves file. file1, file2, etc. I also made the
mistake of not closing and trying to reopen the file, but instead kept
adding to it. The next day, I could not open the most recent three versions.

Thanks for the advice, however, none of the suggested tips seemed to
allow me to "restore" the file.

I am going to start over from scratch and hope it doesn't happen again.
