publisher flyer printing

I created a flyer in publisher in the "envelope DL" format. Because it's
small, I'd like to print it 3 times on a sheet of paper. It won't let me
select that option and prints it only once across the page.

Hi -

Since it is only 3, I would copy the entire (grouped) thing and paste it 3
times onto another file you have opened with a blank standard size page.
(Watch out for your printer limitations on area it actually prints!)

I was thinking about that too but it's a 2 page flyer (front and back) and
I'd have to paste both "sides" on exactly the same spots on the new page.

Hi, Miriam -

Another approach here:

Open a new "blank" page

File> Page Setup : pick "custom" and put in the width and height of one of
your flyer
(Copy and paste your design)

Insert> page
(Copy and paste the other side of your design)

You should have two pages - one for the front, one for the back of your
flyer - do your layout for each

File> print : "change copies per sheet" - select "print multiple copies per
sheet" and set the the side and top "margins" and the vertical and horizontal
"gaps"

Then print one side. Turn the sheet over feed it into the printer the same
direction and print the other side.

You really have to be aware of your printers limitations - be sure to leave
yourself enough borderin your layout.

Experiment. Good luck with it.

Since Publisher is a page layout application, that shouldn't be too hard a
task. Exact positioning is one of things a DTP application is used for.
However, here is a different way to print 3up. Create a blank publication
which is the exact size of the "envelope DL". Then when you go to print the
page(s) select the option to print multiple pages per sheet. Look under page
options on the print menu panel. Note the difference in page size which is
the individual document and sheet size which is the actual size of the media
you are printing to.
