I am having difficulty saving to CD-RW's without it defaulting to Read-Only
after it had been saved to the disc. Any suggestions?

CD-RW discs are not designed to be used as removeable hard drives or even
large floppy disks.

You will need to save to your local drive and copy to the CD-RW using your
CD-writing software. Then, when you wish to edit the file, copy the file to
your hard drive, remove the read-only attribute, open, edit, and then copy
back to the CD-RW.

If you are using the CD in RW mode then it should not be saved as readonly.
If you are creating a CD/R then it will be readonly because that's what the
medium is and there's nothing you can do about it. Exactly what procedure
are you using to save these files.
