Publisher is adding a white box around a picture

I am doing a catalog merge in Publisher. I use EPS to inport into the
document. The pictures do not have a border around them but after I pdf out
of publisher and open in corel x4 there is a white square border around the
picture. I have checked the printer settings and don't see anything checked
there. Also in formatting it is set to have no border?? Thanks!

Have you considered .png? Are looking for the.eps. to have a transparent
background? Are you importing into Corel as an Ecapsulated Postscript or
Postscript Interpreted? Usually the latter will have a transparent background.
If the image retains its vector qualities, ungroup it in Corel and delete the
background. Why are you converting the merge to a PDF? What are you gaining by
transferring it to a Draw program?

Thanks Mary, .png does not work for us. When we import it into corel we need
to adjust colors so it cannot be a bitmap. Draw is our main program and our
finished product always comes out of it so we have consistent colors. We are
a sign company. I am working with Microsoft on several issues on this project
and we found out publisher is converting the .eps files to .wmf - waiting to
hear from them today. I am dealing with 30,000 files so the prospect of hand
deleting is not good.
