Publisher problems after Office 2003 SP3 install

My PC recently downloaded Office 2003 SP3. Since that update, my
publisher files are screwed up. I was not having any problems before
that update. Now when I try to edit a wordart object, I get the
message "Publisher cannot launch or communicate with the OLE server
program". I have already downloaded and installed the wordart
compatibility add-in hoping that would help. I've tried uninstalling
SP3 but can't.

Any suggestions?

Is it a 2000 document you are trying to edit? Have you tried to
repair your program?

Nope, it's a Pub2003 document. It worked just fine until the SP3 was
installed. Looks like I'm screwed. I hate Microsoft.

I AGREE WITH YOU ABOUT 'HATING' MICROSOFT, BUT THAT DOESN'T SOLVE YOUR PROBLEM OR MINE FOR THAT MATTER. THE BEST ADVISE I CAN GIVE YOU FOR FUTURE USE IS 'NOT TO INSTALL ANY SERVICE PACKS UNTIL IT IS OBLIGATORY! i HAVE 2003 STUDENT/TEACHER VERSION AND HAVEN'T INSTALLED IT YET AND NO PROBLEMS. UNFORTUNATELY I DID DOWNLOAD THE 2007 COMPATIBILITY PACK AND HAVE PROBLEMS WITH EXCEL. USUALLY, AND THIS IS FROM EXPERIENCE, THE SERVICE PACKS ARE TO 'ADDRESS' SECURITY ISSUES THAT RARELY HAVE AN AFFECT ON YOUR PROGRAM ANYWAY. SORRY THIS DOESN'T HELP YOU IMMEDIATE PROBLEM. THE ONE THING I DIDN'T SEE POSTED IS TO SAVE WHAT YOU HAVE, [DOCUMENTS, ETC.], ON A FLASH OR JUMP DRIVE AND THEN UNINSTALL OFFICE. HOPEFULLY WHEN YOU REINSTALL YOU WILL NOT HAVE THE SP3.
