Publisher promo text still exists

I try to just use the text in a Publisher 2002 document for a web page. Using
"Save AS PLAIN TEXT" I get the created text plus the promo text (Sample
quote:"One benefit of using your newsletter as a promotional tool " which
nearly doubles the size of what I want. I'm not alone. Use a search engine
to find the quoted and many have the unwanted promo in their page. Can't find
the text in pub (no 2nd page at all; FIND doesn't find the text, etc.
How can I remove the promo before using SAVE AS?

The text is there. If you don't change the default text in the template this
text will be present. Highlight the newsletter text, Edit, Find... I typed
"benefit" in the find, on the second page of a random newsletter template the
phrase you are asking about was there.

Yes---you can find "benefit" in a template page. Starting afresh from a
template, I edited it to remove most text--left some in as a dummy. Saved it
with a new name. CLOSED. Reopened. SAVED mostly empty page as text file---All
the original Template text was there! Where is it in the "empty" page's
hidden text? How can I remove the boilerplate from a template?

PS. Thanks for the reply.

What happens if you completely delete the text box and replace it with a new
one? In some templates there is synchronization.

I cannot duplicate your issue, no matter what I try. When I clear the phrase
from the template and publish it as a PDF the phrase is gone. What specific
template are you using?

My BAD! Sorry. The additional text I was seeing in the TXT version was the
2,3,& 4th pages. So now I know how to do a clean revision of a TEMPLATE (by
the way, it was Refined Newsletter). My pdf try also showed a normal 4 page
newsletter. What I am working with is emailed to me to put the text on the
web so I don't know the exact steps used. A second source of emailed *.pub's
doesn't have the left-over text problem.

Its good you have it all sorted out, I wish I could have been more help sooner.
Thanks for posting back, it is appreciated.
