Publishing Blocked @ FIrewall

The only way I can publish my site is to disable the MS firewall. It
requires port 21, and so far I have been unable to clear that port of
firewall blocking.

Does anyone have advice?

What steps have you taken to try and disable the FTP port in the WF?
Where are you publishing to, your own machine?

I tried to add ftp and Front Page to the exception lists...made no
difference. I am publishing to BlueHost. I am using FP ftp against better
advice, as the name they assigned me is already an active IP address and I
will activate the FP extensions when I am ready to kill the other site and
"go live" with this one. That should make no difference, eh? I can do it
flawlessly from my home system(XP Pro on a Dell 8200), but it refuses to work
at my office (XP Pro on Dell 4400). I searched the MS KB and could find
nothing about clearing a port in the Firewall...can you point me to a proper
reference?

Cheers

To open FTP in the Windows Firewall, you go to Advanced, network connection
settings, Settings Tab, Serv ices and check FTP server.

However, the WF is an inbound firewall only. It does not block outgoing.

Does your office have their own firewall? You may need to speak to
your IT people.
