Publishing Updated Pages

I have a temporary website uploaded onto the server in a
directory accessable by my partners for updates before we
go "live".

When trying to publish the new changes using the Publish
feature of FrontPage 2000, I receive an error when at the
stage of "processing web updates". The error message
is, "The server sent a response which FrontPage could not
parse. If you are trying to connect to a FrontPage
server, check with the server's administrator to make
sure that FrontPage server extensions are installed
properly." I am the master administrator.

I looked at the Knowledge base. Could not find this
specific error, but did Update FrontPage Extensions on
the server. I still receive the same error.

What should I do?

When you say "in a directory" do you mean a FP Subweb
Can you open the subweb and the publish location web/subweb in FP
