Purchased Standard Office Upgrade but don't have a previous M/O p.

How can I still use the upgrade version I purchased and opened on my new
laptop without having a previous version of M/O? Where can I get a cheap old
version that I can install for Windows XP Professional so I can install the
upgrade?
Are there any other alternatives available for me since the retailer won't
take the product back after being opened?

Looks like we have the winner of Moron of the Month for January here, folks!
Let me see if I have this correct - you purchased an upgrade licence knowing
you didn't have a qualifying product?! And you thought you'd be able to
install it how, exactly...?

Don't tell me - you thought you could use *WINDOWS* XP as a qualifier?!

Yep, voting is now closed, we have the *WINNER*!

Theres no need to install older version in order to upgrade, you simply need
cd available to pop in when Office complains it cannot find a qualifying
product.
