Query - What if?

Hello folks,

Is there a function in Microsoft Project to ask the question "What if?"
(i.e. duration of several tasks changes/delays) and the program automatically
responds (somehow)? This would be in lieu of actually making adjustments to
the schedule and seeing what happens to the schedule! I don't think there is
but I thought I would ask. Thanks in advance!

The function is to make the adjustments and see what happens. Save a
baseline first to compare against, then make the changes. It couldn't be
simpler. There is no special "function" for it. I can see that one would be
handy, but it really wouldn't save much time.
