Question on DataBridge functionality

I have never done any development with the web service model so would like
someone to comment on whether the following can be accomplished:

The manager of a workspace (e.g. 10 MB) will invite the DataBridge identity
to the workspace. I would like the manager to receive a notification/message
from the DataBridge identity saying all the workspace content (10 MB) is
downloaded to the DataBridge.

In other words, I would like to write the code to run on the DataBridge to
do the following:

* Trigger an event when the DataBridge identity is invited to a workspace
* Keep track the progress of the download
* Trigger an event when the download is done, find out the one that
originally sent the invite, and send a notification to him

Can all these be down with the Groove web services object model?
