Quick View feature for XP

RJohn

With XP Professional you cannot "Quick View" a file in Explorer. This
feature was available in Windows 98. It is very useful when you don't
remember the file name of a Word or Excel document or forget what a file
contains. It is also very useful when you wish to clean out documents. It
was also a good time saver since the program associated with the file in
question did not open. The file just popped up in a window so one can
"quickly" review the file's contents. This feature was not included with XP.
I could not understand why such a convenient command was not added in XP.

Hi RJohn,

Quickview was a 3rd party product MS licensed for awhile
but dropped in favor of its own thumbnail and preview capabilities
in Windows Explorer. Quickview Plus v8 is still available
