Hi,

Does anyone know if you can change the status indicators to show as RAG
indicators?

Thanks in advance

Hi Misty,

You cannot change the indicators themselves but you can reference the
Status field and create your own indicators in a spare text field.
The status field shows complete, on schedule, late, or future task.
Each status is actually a number that you can use to create the RAG
status.

Complete = 0
On Schedule = 1
Late = 2
Future Task = 3

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Hi Misty,

You're welcome for the assistance and thanks for the feedback.

To create the RAG column:

Insert a spare text field in the table (left side of Gantt) through
Insert > Column.
Pick any of the Text1 through Text30 fields that are not in use.
Once you've inserted the field (column), right click on the column
heading and choose Customize Fields from the shortcut menu.
In the Customize Fields dialog box, click the Formula button and enter
the following formula:

[Status]

Do not enter an equal sign and make sure you include the square
brackets around the field name.
Click OK to close the formula box and click OK when the message about
replacing values appears. You should be back in the Customize fields
dialog box.

Click the Rename button to apply a name to the column as you need.

Under the Values to display section, click the Graphical Indicators.
In the graphical indicators set your tests and graphics as you wish:
First row:
Test: Equals
Value: 0
Graphic: Pick one for completed tasks
Second Row:
Test: Equals
Value: 1
Graphic: Pick one for on schedule tasks

Continue for Late tasks and future tasks in row 3 and row 4.

Click OK to close the Graphical Indicators and return to the Customize
Fields
Click OK to close the Customize fields dialog and show your RAG status
column.

Hi Julie,

I have just had the opportunity to carry out your instructions and would
like to express my sincere thanks! I saw this on a plan many years ago and
ever since have tried to find out how to incorporate into my plans!

Thanks again,

Misty
