Re-installing Microsoft Office Student and Teacher Edition 2003

My computer crashed last weekend and I lost all of my software programs I
installed, including microsoft office student and teacher edition 2003. The
software is licensed for up to three PCs. If I reinstall the software again
(on the same computer), does that mean I will be using up my 2nd license? Or
can I reinstall it without having to use up my license?

Just out of curiosity, when I reinstall the Microsoft Office and activate
the software again, how would microsoft know if I was reinstalling the
software on the same computer?

When you activate on the Internet, they have a record of some of the
computer information.
