One way you can achieve this is to save it as normal then locate the file
using explorer. Right click on the file select "properties" and then tick
"read only" and press "ok"

Previous versions don't have an option to save as Read only, so I'm
wondering if we're talking about the same thing? By the way, Read Only
isn't a good protection for your presentation file. Is that why you want to
use it?

I'm assuming you're asking how to make a PP file 'read
only' because you send the file to others and don't want
them messing with it. I 'print' the presentation to a pdf
file. That way folks can't change it unless they have
software to extract the contents of pdf files, which most
don't. So not perfect protection but reasonably good. You
can buy Adobe Acrobat for $250 or there are a number of
shareware programs that will work. Find them on
tucows.com, download.com, or others. . gdz
