I was wondering how to turn off the read only option on a presentation

Depends why the read only is happening.

Are you getting an error message, or at least a dialog box that says
something about read only? Or do you just need to know how to turn it off
after you copy a file from CD to your hard drive?

?? Again, if you're getting an error message, that is a different cause than
the read only that happens because the file was copied from a CD.

See http://www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/FAQ00076.htm for another reason you
might receive a "read only" warning. Another reason is that someone has put
a modify password on it.

See? I asked those questions earlier for a reason.
